Washington International Center for Creativity, PLLC
A main psychotherapy goal at the Washington International Center for
creativity is to fully develop the creative potential and to remove
blockages to the creative processes of individuals and groups.

Mental Health is so important for the fulfillment of the creative potential.
Research has shown that when anxiety and/or depression are present all
the dimensions of creativity are affected,  especially the ability to produce
new and original ideas, the ability to elaborate on them, the ability to
remain open to new associations and the ability to express and
communicate. Both creativity and psychotherapy are, among other
things, about finding new possibilities in life.

Being creative often involves doing things in a different way and that is
not always valued by the environment. In addition, there is often an
enhanced sensitivity to stimulus of different kinds, therefore being gifted
offers additional challenges to understand and accept the self as
different and divergent. Gifted children can be as challenging as
rewarding for parents and educators.

Creative production is not stable along the lifespan and there might be
episodes often described as blockages to creativity, which can produce
intense anxiety and the feeling of not being able to accomplish vital
tasks. The psychotherapeutic services at the Center are targeted to
develop the creative potential and to remove blockages to creative
processes.
The Washington International Center for Creativity, PLLC
offers psychodynamic psychotherapy with expertise in the
treatment of individuals interested in developing their
creative potential, gifted children and adolescents, and
individuals suffering
creativity blockages.

Through psychoanalysis individuals become aware of many of the factors that determine their emotions and behavior and
condition their everyday life decisions, therefore they become able to foresee consequences and act with more freedom and
consciousness, exploring and enjoying more their creativity. Psychoanalysis involves insight and emotional experiential learning.
Psychoanalysis itself  is a dynamic creative process.
